About Namibia

Known as the Republic of Namibia, this is a country located in the southern part of Africa. Bordering the western part of this country is the Atlantic Ocean and it also shares land with Zambia. Namibia is home to various kinds of wildlife and the most prominent one that people visit the place for are the cheetahs. The capital of the country is a beautiful coastal town where you will be able to find Colonial time buildings that were built by the Germans long ago. This is an up-and-coming travel destination for people from many parts of the world because of the variety and diverse interests it has to offer to all kinds of travellers.

Booking Accommodation

All kinds of accommodation can be found among the many great hotels in Namibia, for instance, the centrally located ones like Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino. A lot of the parts of this country are located in remote areas and thus accommodation might be limited. If you choose to stay at such a place, finding a room for a big family is also hard here. So if you are travelling with children, or if as a big group, make sure that you book well ahead in advance after you do some research about the places and the hotels in the area. Also, keep in mind that it is going to be really hard to change your dates once you pick the place. So make up your mind, book the tickets and then book then the accommodations.

Planning the trip well

There is an amazing variety of things to see in Namibia and going from one place to another itself will take you a lot of time. So, you'll have to do some research before planning or booking a trip. If you are opting to drive and covering a lot of the country, then you have to make sure that you know exactly what you want to see and do every single day during your holiday in Namibia. Good planning is vital so that you don't spend too much time driving around and wondering what to do next, because every hour that you drive around aimlessly is missing out on a place you could have explored or seen in Namibia. Also, make sure that you have plenty of spare time for any unexpected circumstances or even some additional time so that you can just relax at a place or take a break, especially if you're driving yourself around the country. While you are crossing the desert, take a look at the wildlife and amazing sceneries on your way and back. If you are under pressure to make up for lost time, you will not be able to stop and enjoy the things on the journey too.

One thing to keep in mind is, never drink and drive. The left side of the road is used to drive here and do try to avoid speeding on the roads, no matter how empty it looks. This is because of the wildlife; if you are speeding, you will not be able to stop in time to avoid hitting any random animal that decides to cross the roads. When travelling around, remember that the land belongs to the wildlife, so you must not harm them or their lifestyle in any way. Also, it is not advised to drive during the night, again, this is for both your safety and the animals' too.
