How to Pack for a Beach Vacation - Packing List for Your Next Beach Getaway

As one of the most popular travel destinations among families, couples and even solo visitors, beach vacations are perhaps everyone's idea of a great holiday. Regardless of the duration or the destination of the vacation, there are a set of rules one must follow when packing for a beach getaway. From knowing what to leave behind to making sure you have all the essentials, here are some tips to help you pack for your next seaside holiday.

1. Clothing Must-Haves

While it is tempting to pack all of your favourite holiday outfits, one must not pack too many clothing options for a beach holiday. This is due to the fact that you will be spending most of your time in the water or within the confines of the resort, which means there will be very few if any excursions into town. A few t-shirts, shorts and sundresses will more than suffice for a weekend beach trip while those who are planning on a lengthier stay at a swanky hotel may want to pack a formal dress or something fancy for a night out on the town.

2. Bathing Suits and Beachwear

All beachgoers must have at least two bathing suits in their luggage as it is very easy for swimwear to become unwearable due to various unforeseen circumstances. It is also difficult to find bathing suits that fit one perfectly when in a foreign destination while the cost of swimwear may also be exorbitant in tourist towns. That's why it's necessary to shop locally and have two bathing suits ready to go for your next beach vacation. Resort wear or beachwear made from light and breezy materials will also come in handy at Avani Pattaya Resort or any similar Pattaya beach resort, for that matter.

3. Footwear

Holidaymakers can really cut back when it comes to packing footwear for a beach trip as you will only need a pair of flip flops and sandals. Leave the heels at home and only pack a pair of sneakers or hiking boots if you intend to engage in any trekking activities during the holiday. Don't forget to bring socks and never bring unworn or new footwear on holiday as they will cause cuts and scrapes.

4. Medical Supplies

All travellers must have the basic medical essentials neatly packed in their suitcases, in case of an emergency. Take a water-proof bag and throw in an antibiotic cream, Band-Aids, plasters, antihistamines and some stomach settling medications that can be purchased over the counter. Those who tend to overindulge during vacation time may also want to have some antacids and a few painkillers on hand.

5. Toiletries

Although most hotels will provide toothpaste, soap and even toothbrushes, it is prudent to pack some in your luggage in case you get stuck at an airport on the way to your destination. Some visitors with sensitive skin may also find that the shampoos, conditioners and other supplies provided by the hotel are not suitable for their skin type.

6. Sun Protection

Whether you are hoping to take part in water sports activities or not, every traveller heading to the beach must pack a bottle of suntan lotion that's appropriate for their skin. Check the SPF index on the bottle and make sure it provides sufficient protection against the harmful rays of the sun in the particular corner of the world you are travelling to.

7. Other Devices

Apart from your mobile phone and digital camera, tourists should also pack a few beach reads or a Kindle for the holiday. A tablet or a laptop loaded with your favourite movies and TV shows will also help while away the hours on the way to and from the beach as well as during nights in.
