How to do Parasailing in Maldives

Are you already bored with seeing the same old walls 24 hours a day? Well, that's what anyone responsible should do during this pandemic; however, that doesn't mean you can't plan for the future! Let all your pandemic blues blow away by planning to parasail in the Maldives – the ultimate activity that would get that surge of adrenaline pumping in your veins. Here's what you should consider when parasailing in the Maldives.

Best times to go parasailing

The Maldives is where the sun seems to shine for most of the year, which makes it an ideal destination for tourism and related activities – including parasailing! However, one should know that the Maldives does experience two seasons every year: the dry and the wet seasons. The period between May to October brings the wet season, which should be avoided at all costs by someone looking forward to Maldives activities such as parasailing. The cloudy days are frequented by thunderstorms; although the sun does peek above clouds for a generous amount of time during this season, you can never know when the rain strikes to ruin all your plans! So, the best time to parasail is possibly the country's dry season, which prevails from November to April. This is when the sun pours its warmth everywhere, making the surroundings look beautiful – this season comes with costs too!

Where to parasail

The Maldives is your ultimate beach destination; it's where you can hop from island to island and revel in the beauty of some of the best beaches in the world. Most of these beaches offer various adventure activities including parasailing. Reethi Beach is one such spot that is quite famous among travellers looking forward to parasailing. It is a tiny island nestled in Baa Atoll featuring immaculate white sands and sparkling, turquoise waters. The island offers a myriad of activities the highlight of which being parasailing. The island's breathtaking beauty is worth exploring from high above and parasailing would offer a bird's eye view from above! Moreover, water sports centres at properties such as Saii Lagoon Maldives too, offer parasailing facilities.

What to expect

A recreational activity quite popular in the Maldives, parasailing is where you will be towed behind a speed boat while being attached to a specially designed canopy-like wing. The harness will attach you to the parasail wing. Once the boat drives off into the sea, carrying you in it, you will be gradually lifted into the air.

Know your gear

There are several essential pieces of equipment for parasailing. Learning the basic gear would let you understand how you're lifted to the air, thus giving the sense of security you need in order to enjoy without feeling unnecessarily frightened up in the air. Even if you fall into the sea, (which isn't likely to happen) wearing a life jacket would keep you safely afloat in the water until someone picks you up. The life jacket must fit snugly to your body. The part you will be sitting, which appears sort of like a swing seat, is known as the body harness. This would be attached to either end of the passenger tow bar. The harness is attached to the parasail wing, which resembles a parachute.
