The Melbourne Luna Park

This was the first-ever and the only park of this kind that Australia had back in 1912. Most of the rides and roller coasters here will take you back to the 1970s, and this is what the people love about Melbourne Luna Park the most. If you choose one of the coolest places to stay in Melbourne the likes of Avani Melbourne Box Hill Residences, try and allocate one full day for this amazing experience with your kids and family.

The Scenic Railway

Only a very few roller coasters in the world require a brakeman to stand in the middle of the train, and this roller coaster ride 'Scenic Railway' is one of them. From the time this park was opened in 1912, this roller coaster ride has been continually happening and this makes it the oldest ride in the world as well. From dips, turns, and climbs – enjoy all of it during the ride of 3 minutes. Just as the name suggests, the Scenic Railway is also to enjoy the views, so don't miss this out!

Carousel

This ride can be equally enjoyed by the kids and the adults as well. They call it the 'Jewel in the Crown' and it has over 60 horses and chariots that are all different from each other. All these characters are hand-painted uniquely, and no one will ever be able to guess that this fixture is over 100 years old.

Twin Dragon

This ride is not as simple as it seems to be. This is a Japanese pirate ship experience in which you'll have to find your sea legs to cross the high seas. 40 people can take up this swinging ride at once and throughout the two minutes, you will feel your stomach rising and falling again to the rhythm of the ride.

Spider

If all the other rides are not adventurous enough for you at the Melbourne Luna Park, you probably should try the 'Spider' ride. This ride has joined the park in 1977 and 24 people can have this super experience at the same time. Just as a spider does, this spider machine has 6 arms with 2 rotating carriages each. The ride goes just for 2 minutes, but that'll be more than enough to make you have a dizzy spell. You don't get to try the difficult rides every day, so just take the chance when you still have it.

Ghost Train

Did you know that only 16 ghost trains are remaining in this world? The Ghost Train at Luna Park is one of them, and it's still loved by kids all around the world. Tell your kids to be brave throughout the ride and let them have this rare experience. They'll come across a ghostly portrait hall and a series of haunting passageways and all they need to do is enjoy the ride. The track for this ride has been made in 1936, and they still use the same. Once the ride is over, your kids will realize that ghosts are just a myth, just as it was on Scooby-Doo!
