 Hike along the Tiki Trail 

 A must do activity when in Queenstown; the Tiki Trail takes you up wooded slopes towards gorgeous vistas of the land and Lake Wakatipu. The hike takes up to an hour and you’ll be covering 2.1km of distance. You will start at the bottom of the Gondola, and ascend upwards through the trees to Bob’s peak. The climb is short yet steep. And, you’ll be climbing through a forest to reach the scenic viewpoint. Once you reach the top, relax with a drink before taking the Gondola to come back to the lower regions of the earth. But, if you are in the mood for a Mario Kart type ride, try the Queenstown Luge.

Once you reach Bob’s peak, you can ride the Queenstown Luge. You can pretend to be Princess Peach or Mario as you whip round curves along the ride. The beginner’s loop is less steep and more manageable on your first ride. Enjoy the breathtaking views over Queenstown.

Try Mountain biking

The mild weather and pleasant trails make Queenstown a great place for biking. There are plenty of biking trails in Queenstown. You can either go on a guided tour or rent a bike and pedal away to your heart’s content. There is even a biking place at the top of Bob’s peak. But, you don’t have to hike and then bike. Ride the Skyline Gondola to get to the peak.

Boat riders whip past rocks and take 360 degree spins in the gorgeous river gorge.

Go Wine Tasting in Central Otago

It is good to wrap up your ‘adventuring’ with several sips of wine to wind down and enjoy the mellow vibe of Queenstown. New Zealand produces some world class reds and whites. Central Otago is a wine region that encompasses Queenstown and Wanaka. And, they are well-known for exquisite Pinot Noirs. Stroll along the vineyards and wineries, and sip wine. Good times.
