Overview

Solo travel in Dubai is relatively easy. It is also a safe place to navigate for a woman travelling by herself. This cosmopolitan city accommodates multiple nationalities, however, there is much respect shown for the Islamic culture and there are certain rules and regulations you must adhere to. This would mean that you will have to cover up when you are not at the beaches or other tourist attraction. There are strict laws against public displays of affection, and alcohol drinking too! Take note of it if you don't want to pay a fine!

Accommodation

To your delight, you will find that Dubai accommodates any budget. This means you can go for a luxurious day at seven-star hotels or for other mid-range hotels and even hostels if you are on a reasonable budget. However, make sure that you stay at places from where you can easily get to tourist attractions. For instance, you can check out centrally located Dubai hotels the likes of Avani Deira Dubai Hotel.

Getting around

You can easily get around in Dubai with the use of public transport. Buses run very regularly. You can even hop on one from the airport to the Deira bus station. Some of the hotels offer free transport in Dubai to all the shopping districts. Dubai Metro is another public transport that is easy to use. As most of the stations are above ground level, it is a good way to see the city from a different vantage point. Most people often rely on the services of taxis. You can pretty much hail a taxi anywhere across Dubai. There are also popular apps like Uber from where you can request a taxi anywhere at any time!

Places you must visit

One of the top things you can do in Dubai is to go shopping. The shopping never ceases to amaze anyone, you can browse through the high end and designer stores. The world's biggest shopping mall, the Dubai Mall, is located here. There are themed malls, like the Ibn Battuta Mall, too! Some of the malls have an underwater zoo, aquarium and so much more! Souqs are the traditional Arab marketplaces where you can find authentic heritage items. A place that captures Arab arts and handcrafts at its best too!

If you would like to relax during this trip, make sure to visit the beaches. The warm waters are quite inviting, and you can spend a day lazing on the public beaches and enjoy a few cold drinks. The Dubai Burj Khalifa located in downtown Dubai is another 'must visit' place. It is the tallest building in the world and one of the iconic sites in Dubai. Needless to say, you will have a breath-taking panoramic view of the city from the observation deck here. The restaurant scene is also thriving in Dubai. There are so many authentic cuisines you must try out. You will be pleasantly surprised at the favours it boasts of. If you would like a traditional insight into Dubai, check out their Bedouin camps and camel racing tracks. These are located just outside of the city! Do not forget the Dubai desert which is just a stone throw away from the city. You can check out Dubai Desert safaris and other thrilling desert sports excursions!
